Design Your Own Session at the 2023 ISSCR Annual Meeting

As we expand opportunities for members to engage with the society and our community throughout my presidential year, I’m pleased to announce a new type of session at the Annual Meeting, driven by ISSCR members—the Science Spotlight sessions.

At our 2023 annual meeting, there will be five such new, one-hour sessions that will highlight specific topics that are selected and organized by you beyond what is covered by the Program Committee.  In these sessions, organizers can define topics and speakers.  Designed to engage our members, including postdoctoral researchers and graduate students, Science Spotlights will broaden and deepen the science presented at ISSCR 2023 to enhance the meeting’s function in promoting scientific exchanges.

David Scadden, the 2023 Annual Meeting Program Chair, and I are extremely excited about this new format and the additional speaking and leadership experience it will provide to all members, particularly those early in their career.  

Proposal submission details and a call for application will go live soon with a 1 December 2022 deadline. So, stay tuned for a formal announcement later this month.

While deep in planning ISSCR 2023 in Boston, another unique opportunity to learn and exchange ideas is just around the corner. Later this month, the ISSCR/ASGCT 2022 Madison International Symposium gathers internationally recognized scientific experts for three days to explore the intersection of cell and genetic technologies. Whether in person or virtually, we hope you will attend.
